Postdoctoral Researcher – Cyber‑Physical Systems & Trustworthy AI

About the role

The iSTAR Lab at Texas A&M Engineering seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to lead cutting‑edge research in Cyber‑Physical Systems, Trustworthy AI, cybersecurity, and Next‑Generation Networks. The position focuses on federally funded projects aimed at creating resilient‑by‑design architectures for critical infrastructure and autonomous systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement novel research methods aligned with the lab’s strategic directions.
• Assist the Principal Investigator in identifying funding opportunities and drafting technical proposals for federal and industrial sponsors.
• Lead the authoring of high‑impact journal articles (IEEE, ACM) and present findings at flagship conferences.
• Co‑supervise Ph.D. and Master’s students, providing technical guidance on theory, experiments, and proofs.
• Oversee development, management, and utilization of lab testbeds, including smart‑grid co‑simulations, CPS robotics, Software Defined Radios, and Industrial Control Systems.
• Coordinate collaborations with external partners and across Texas A&M campuses.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong research background in CPS, AI, cybersecurity, or networked systems.
• Demonstrated ability to publish in top‑tier venues and secure research funding.
• Experience mentoring graduate students.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
