Postdoctoral Research Associate – Periodontics

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Periodontics department. The role involves advanced biomaterials research, in‑vitro and in‑vivo studies, and dissemination of findings through scientific publications.

Key responsibilities

• Research materials/scaffolds synthesis and characterization using polymer chemistry, electrospinning, laser microdissection, SEM, and confocal microscopy.
• Cell culture and in‑vitro studies with stem cells on synthetic matrices, including proliferation, differentiation, and RNA‑seq data analysis.
• In‑vivo animal studies, performing surgeries, specimen collection, μCT imaging, and immunohistological/immunohistochemical staining.
• Prepare and submit manuscripts to peer‑reviewed journals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• PhD in biomaterials, biomedical engineering, dentistry, medicine or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in advanced material fabrication and characterization.
• Strong background in stem‑cell culture and molecular analysis.
• Experience with animal surgery and histological techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume research environment.
