About the role
The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr. Samira Feyzi’s Analytical Protein Chemistry program. The position focuses on advancing research on plant and dairy proteins and their applications in food systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for protein extraction, purification, fractionation, and characterization.
- Develop and optimize methods to assess protein binding properties, modification, and functionality in food matrices.
- Implement and maintain chromatographic and proteomic techniques (HPLC, UPLC, GC/MS, GC/MS‑O).
- Analyze data, troubleshoot protocols, and contribute to scientific publications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate findings into practical food applications.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Food Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex analytical problems and make independent decisions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for scientific reporting.
Required skills
- Protein extraction, purification, and fractionation techniques.
- Chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, GC/MS, GC/MS‑O).
- Proteomics analysis.
- Method development and validation.
