Postdoctoral Fellow – Price Risk Management Center

About the role

This one‑year postdoctoral appointment is based in the Fryar Price Risk Management Center of Excellence within the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. The fellow will develop decision‑support tools, produce monthly USDA report summaries, and create an interactive WASDE dashboard to aid farmers and industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch an interactive hedging tool that allows producers to input farm variables and receive profit margin scenarios.
• Produce monthly USDA report summaries that compare supply‑demand data with market expectations and provide price forecasts.
• Develop an interactive USDA WASDE dashboard to visualize report impacts on futures markets and historical trends.
• Collaborate with Fryar Center faculty to align outputs with the Center’s research, outreach, and engagement priorities.

Required profile

• Expertise in price risk management, derivatives, agricultural finance, or related disciplines.
• Experience with behavioral economics approaches to risk assessment and commodity marketing.
• Ability to translate complex market data into user‑friendly decision tools and reports.
