Groundskeeper Crew Lead

About the role

The Groundskeeper Crew Lead oversees a small groundskeeping team, ensuring lawns, landscaping, roadways, parking lots, and walkways meet university standards. The role also includes snow/ice removal and supporting the Grounds Shop leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small groundskeeping staff in daily maintenance tasks.
• Perform and/or oversee moderately complex ground maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, and snow/ice removal.
• Maintain roadways, parking lots, and walkways to institutional standards.
• Assist Grounds Shop leadership as needed and ensure reliable attendance.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum two years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
• Preferred three years of experience and prior supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform repetitive manual work.

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic groundskeeping and landscaping equipment operation and maintenance.
• Experience using a CMMS/Work Order system and mobile technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including email and spreadsheets.
