About the role
Northeastern University’s Quantum Materials and Sensing Institute seeks outstanding candidates for one‑year Postdoctoral Research Associate positions, with possible extensions to three years. The role focuses on computational discovery, modeling, and simulation of quantum and optical materials, supporting projects such as molecular magnets and oxide coatings for the LIGO collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Initiate and execute independent computational/theoretical research projects under faculty guidance.
- Publish findings in top journals, present at conferences, and contribute to grant proposals and reports.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, maintain laboratory resources, and assist with research administration.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field with a strong record of experimental or theoretical research.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research effectively through publications and presentations.
