Academic Coach for Accelerated Nursing Program

About the role

The School of Nursing at Northeastern University seeks a full‑time Academic Coach to provide individualized and group tutoring for students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The coach will help students master complex nursing concepts, develop clinical reasoning, and succeed in a fast‑paced curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring sessions covering nursing fundamentals, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical applications.
• Assess student learning needs, monitor progress, and maintain detailed tutoring records.
• Create supplemental learning materials such as study guides, practice questions, and concept maps.
• Collaborate with ABSN faculty to align tutoring services with course objectives and participate in program improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current, active RN license and BSN from an ACEN or CCNE‑accredited program.
• Minimum five years of acute‑care or specialty clinical nursing experience.
• Experience working with adult learners and diverse student populations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex concepts clearly.
