About the role
The Clarke Lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Miami seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary project that combines proteomics, cell biology, biochemistry, and evolutionary developmental biology. The research focuses on the role of cell‑adhesion proteins in the origin of animal multicellularity using non‑bilaterian models.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and apply biochemical and cellular assays to characterize adhesion proteins in sponges, placozoans, cnidarians, and ctenophores.
- Analyze proteomic data and integrate computational and statistical methods.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
- Collaborate with multiple research groups and present findings at meetings.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, evolutionary developmental biology, or a related field.
- Strong publication record and ability to work independently.
- Experience with computational and statistical analysis.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to mentor students.
