Postdoctoral Associate – Genetic & Bioinformatics Research

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Postdoctoral Associate to join the Hussman Institute at the University of Miami. The successful candidate will conduct cutting‑edge research on Alpha‑1 Antitrypsin deficiency, integrating genomic and clinical data within the All of Us Research Program.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute genetic and bioinformatic analyses of Alpha‑1 Antitrypsin deficiency.
• Develop, validate, and apply machine‑learning and statistical models to large‑scale biomedical datasets.
• Apply large language model and natural language processing techniques to unstructured clinical data.
• Utilize cloud‑based and high‑performance computing environments for scalable data processing.
• Prepare research reports, technical papers, and contribute to scientific publications.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard research assets.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new methods and adapt to evolving research priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
