Porter – Community Maintenance

About the role

The Porter supports the overall appearance and functionality of The District community by maintaining common areas, handling trash removal, and assisting the service team with routine tasks. This onsite position ensures the property remains clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings, keeping all common areas and amenities tidy.
• Remove trash and items from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process, transport waste to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Complete minor and routine service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Assist the make‑ready specialist during apartment turnover activities.
• Change locks in accordance with property policy and ensure pool gates and other access points are secure.

Required profile

• Physical ability to perform cleaning, lifting, and lock‑changing tasks.
• Reliability and willingness to work independently on a variety of duties.
• Attention to detail to maintain high standards of curb appeal and safety.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of lock‑changing procedures.
• Familiarity with trash removal and standard cleaning equipment.
