Platform Software Engineer, Digital Operations

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join its Development Platform team. You will build and maintain internal platform services that enable engineers, IT, and HelpDesk teams to work faster and more efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Support citizen developers by expanding access to internal platforms such as BETA Forge and AI‑assisted coding tools, providing documentation and training.
• Design and develop self‑serve APIs, automation tooling, and platform services that allow teams to provision and manage resources independently.
• Contribute to the BETA OS project, helping define production delivery practices, shared release pipelines, and platform‑wide standards.
• Develop tooling and workflow automations for IT and HelpDesk, including ticketing integrations and onboarding/off‑boarding workflows.
• Collaborate with Platform and Product teams to promote coding patterns, service templates, and reusable components.
• Identify gaps in the developer experience and prototype improvements to increase engineering velocity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience, preferably with Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
