Platform and Infrastructure Manager

About the role

The Georgia Student Finance Commission is seeking a Platform and Infrastructure Manager to lead its platform and infrastructure operations. This senior position oversees cloud, network, server, and storage services, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost‑effective support for agency applications and technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage office networks, VPN architectures, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, and hybrid connectivity to AWS and on‑premise resources.
• Lead a multi‑disciplinary team of Cloud, DevOps, Systems, and Network Engineers.
• Drive the transition to an Infrastructure‑as‑Product model using IaC, automation, and self‑service “Golden Paths”.
• Oversee Linux and Windows Server administration, patching, licensing, and security hardening.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitHub integration, and application hosting in AWS.
• Govern Oracle database security, performance, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal data‑privacy regulations and prepare for security audits.

Required profile

• Associate degree with 6 years IT experience or Bachelor’s degree with 7 + years relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience managing technical engineering teams.
• Proven background in network administration, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN/LAN stability.
• Hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
