Plant Manager – Baked Goods

About the role

Our client, a leading food and beverage manufacturer specializing in fresh baked goods, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead one of its key business units. The role focuses on delivering on‑time, high‑quality production while driving continuous improvement and supporting the launch of new healthy product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Uphold company performance standards (on‑time delivery, quality, continuous improvement, work ethic).
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, HR, finance and other functions to achieve shared KPIs.
• Ensure daily production targets are met and products meet specifications.
• Identify and implement yield‑recovery opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Develop and monitor key metrics for commercial and operational outcomes.
• Lead cost, quality and service improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Control operational costs against the annual budget and explore cost‑reduction options (packaging, process, automation).
• Ensure timely completion of all administrative requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the baked goods or broader food industry, with at least 5 years in senior management.
• Proven ability to organise workflow, set priorities and meet deadlines in project and contract contexts.
• Demonstrated success in team development and process improvement.
• Strong leadership, effective communication and strategic thinking.
