Plant Electrician (Day Shift)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Plant Electrician to join our state-of-the-art pork processing facility in Estherville, IA. The role is a full-time day-shift position (Monday-Friday, 6:00 am-4:30 pm) focused on maintaining and repairing electrical equipment that keeps production running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, low- and high-voltage, and lighting systems.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment and electrical infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing devices and respond to emergency radio calls.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
• Assist with inventory control, complete work orders, and support other maintenance personnel.
• Safely operate skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers and scissor lifts when required.
• Follow company safety policies, the National Electrical Code and food-safety regulations.

Required profile

• Electrical degree or completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
• Experience as an electrician or electrical technician; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to work additional hours or handle a heavier workload when needed.

Required skills

• Electrical control systems and wiring (low & high voltage).
• Lighting system installation and maintenance.
• Electrical troubleshooting with testing equipment.
• Reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Basic HVAC, Freon and CO₂ system knowledge.
• Operation of skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers and scissor lifts.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and food-safety regulatory requirements.
