Planning Analyst – Production & Supply Chain

About the role

3M is looking for a Planning Analyst to join its production and supply chain team in New Ulm, MN. You will collaborate with global 3M colleagues to ensure production work centers meet customer requirements while improving operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production work centers and monitor output to meet demand.
• Procure materials and communicate future requirements to suppliers.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, Operations, and participate in the Tier process.
• Work with business, manufacturing, value‑stream leadership, and Supply Planners to prioritize and resolve supply constraints.
• Manage parameters such as lot sizes, production cycles, safety stocks, and capacity.
• Maintain working and non‑working inventories to meet investment targets.
• Execute standard production planning work using supply‑chain tools, IT systems, and processes.
• Provide planning analysis for data‑driven decisions and lead continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified) or high school diploma/GED with at least four years of logistics or supply‑chain experience in a private, public, government, or military setting.
• Additional education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Analytics is preferred.
• Two years of combined relevant experience is advantageous.
