Logistics Coordinator

About the role

3M is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage the transportation of goods across local and national locations. You will work with a global team of innovative 3Mers, ensuring shipments meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation of goods to 3M sites, subsidiaries, and customers.
• Determine load planning, allocate inventory, and order trailers or containers.
• Evaluate hazard class of shipments and ensure compliance with DOT and 3M STORM manual regulations.
• Maintain Hazardous Materials Coordinator qualification.
• Prepare and manage transportation documentation, including bills of lading, hazardous manifests, and certificates.
• Generate computer reports such as picklists, BOLs, and hazardous declarations.
• Collaborate with planners, supply‑chain analysts, and dock operators to meet on‑time delivery.
• Work with corporate transportation to secure trailer availability, efficient routing, and carrier selection.
• Provide customer service for expedited orders and special reporting requests.
• Audit invoices, resolve shipping discrepancies, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with six years of manufacturing experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with three years of manufacturing experience.
• Additional experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous‑materials handling.
• Experience generating transportation documentation (BOL, manifests, certificates).
• Ability to coordinate load planning and trailer/container ordering.
