Piping Field Engineer - Underground

About the role

Bechtel, in partnership with NextDecade, is seeking a Piping Field Engineer – Underground to support the Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, Texas. The role focuses on field engineering activities for underground piping systems, ensuring safe and quality‑driven execution throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings and sketches and develop construction methods and procedures.
• Initiate requisitions for field‑purchased materials and equipment; perform quantity takeoffs.
• Verify commodity quantities using tracking systems or database tools.
• Implement and monitor zero‑accident safety philosophy and quality‑control requirements.
• Conduct technical inspections and testing of piping installations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to align work scope and schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field engineering for piping or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawing preparation and material management processes.
• Familiarity with safety and quality‑control standards in large‑scale industrial projects.
• Ability to work on‑site in Brownsville, TX and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
