Pipe Mold CNC Journeyman Machinist

About the role

McWane is hiring a Pipe Mold CNC Journeyman Machinist in Tyler, TX. The machinist sets up, operates and optimizes CNC lathes, milling machines and related equipment to make precision machine parts, and supports scheduling, tooling selection and operator training. The shift runs Monday to Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, optimize and modify CNC lathes, mills and related equipment to produce quality precision-machined components and improve production efficiency.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications and work instructions, and coordinate tooling, workflow, equipment and production activities.
• Train CNC operators and inspect finished work with precision measuring instruments to meet quality and performance standards.
• Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Required profile

• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, milling machines and related equipment, including Fanuc controls and CNC program modifications.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, specifications and technical documentation, and apply sound machining practices, tooling selection and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges.
• Initiative, teamwork and communication skills, and ability to maintain personal machinist tools and measuring instruments.
• Physically able to stand, lift and operate equipment.
• Must pass a written and performance exam.
