Industrial Maintenance Millwright

About the role

Tyler Pipe, a subsidiary of McWane, Inc. and a manufacturer of cast iron soil pipe and fittings in Tyler, Texas, is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Millwright. The position is assigned at new hire orientation depending on production needs, and most openings are on the second and third shifts. Pay ranges from $32.08 to $36.09 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete maintenance duties for your assigned work area, including coordinating and assisting with the construction, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance of production and operational equipment.
• Maintain and repair machines using hydraulic and pneumatic controls used in making cast iron pipe and fittings.
• Assist the supervisor with planning, scheduling and assigning maintenance tasks.
• Order parts and materials from the warehouse or purchasing department.
• Locate, diagnose and repair issues in mechanical systems and equipment, and troubleshoot breakdowns to restore operations with minimal downtime.
• Work safely with electrical hand tools, power tools and measuring and testing instruments, and read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Follow safety procedures, wear PPE, keep the work area clean and report completed work and equipment status to the supervisor, the next shift and the maintenance scheduler.

Required profile

• Verifiable and consistent work experience.
• Ability to identify mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system malfunctions.
• Understanding of the correct handling and use of mechanical repair tools and equipment.
• Ability to manage time, coordinate with co-workers, work unsupervised and volunteer across machines.
• Excellence in attendance and punctuality.
• Must pass a written exam, background check, drug screening and physical fitness test.
