Pilot Plant Technician - Injection Molding

About the role

Join 3M’s Injection Molding team within the Manufacturing Technology organization as a Pilot Plant Technician. You will support experimental, prototype, and production runs, working closely with engineers and product developers to solve challenging manufacturing problems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment for pilot‑plant runs.
• Conduct molding trials independently and collaborate with engineers on product development.
• Identify defects or process issues, make adjustments, and perform quality testing and visual inspections.
• Interpret quality results, provide feedback, and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Promote site EHS and continuous‑improvement culture by implementing ideas and following policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or higher.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environments.
• At least one (1) year of hands‑on experience with injection molding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and capacity to work independently.
• Flexibility to work day shift (6 AM‑2 PM) with possible early‑start/late‑stop or alternate shift coverage.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
