Physician Recruiter – Permanent Placement Consultant

About the role

AMN Healthcare is seeking a driven Search Consultant to lead permanent placement efforts for physicians and advanced practice providers across the United States. In this role you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to negotiating offers, while building lasting relationships with healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for permanent physician and APP opportunities.
• Develop and maintain pipelines of active and passive candidates using sourcing, networking, referrals, social media, and outbound recruiting.
• Screen candidates to assess experience, career goals, compensation expectations, and location preferences.
• Present qualified candidates to client organizations and guide them through the hiring process.
• Build long‑term relationships with physicians, residents, fellows, and APPs to generate future placements and referrals.
• Coordinate interviews and facilitate communication between candidates and healthcare organizations.
• Negotiate compensation packages, employment agreements, and start dates.
• Maintain accurate activity and pipeline data in CRM and ATS systems.
• Achieve recruiting, placement, and activity goals in a metrics‑driven environment.
• Partner with internal operations and credentialing teams to ensure seamless placements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in recruiting, staffing, or healthcare recruiting.
• Strong consultative sales and relationship‑building instincts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Strong sourcing tool capabilities.
