Physician – Occupational Health & Primary Care

About the role

QuadMed is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Physician to join its HII clinic in Newport News, VA. The role focuses on outpatient, preventative medicine and occupational health, allowing physicians to spend quality time with patients and build lasting relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct unhurried, comprehensive patient visits in an outpatient setting.
• Provide preventative and occupational health care, emphasizing patient engagement and responsibility.
• Document and manage patient information using the Epic EMR system.
• Maintain active, unrestricted medical licensure, DEA registration, and CPR (BLS) certification.
• Obtain and retain DOT Medical Examiner Certification when required.
• Collaborate with a collegial team and participate in mentorship or coaching as needed.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an appropriate residency program.
• Active board certification or eligibility.
• Unrestricted state medical license and current DEA registration.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Three years of occupational health or ambulatory primary‑care experience preferred; candidates with less experience must be open to mentorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
