Physician Assistant - Primary Care

About the role

Petaluma Health Center provides high-quality, patient-centered primary care in Southern Sonoma County and West Marin. It is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant who works at the top of their licensure, within a team of health care professionals, to deliver quality primary medical care in a compassionate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take histories and physical examinations, and evaluate and treat patients within the usual scope of licensure and practice guidelines
• Order diagnostics and implement therapy according to scope-of-practice guidelines
• Consult the supervising physician when a case is outside scope or unfamiliar
• Educate patients and communicate effectively during care
• Participate in Medical Staff, PA/NP meetings and other committees, and support patient satisfaction
• Meet productivity requirements and arrive on time for shifts, including after-hours call, weekend clinics and off-site locations such as school-based clinics
• Maintain credentials: California Physician Assistant license, NCCPA certification, DEA registration, BLS, CME and other required licenses
• Follow Joint Commission Ambulatory Care requirements and National Patient Safety Goals

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant training program
• 3+ years of primary care experience in a family practice setting
• Experience in a NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) organization highly preferred
• Experience in a Joint Commission-accredited ambulatory care organization highly preferred
• Master's degree in public health or a related field highly preferred
• Active California Physician Assistant license, NCCPA certification, DEA registration and BLS certification

• Salary of $120,000 to $173,806 per year
