Physical Therapy Assistant

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join its interdisciplinary team in Northwest Arkansas. The PTA will provide direct patient care to residents of the Arkansas State Veterans Home skilled nursing facility, supporting therapeutic plans and monitoring patient progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physical therapist in implementing therapeutic plans.
• Deliver therapeutic techniques and modalities to promote patient recovery.
• Monitor patient status, document progress, and update care records.
• Ensure compliance with Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy regulations and UAMS policies.
• Maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.

Required profile

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant certification/license as required by Arkansas law.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption.
• Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and diversity.
