About the role

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist I to provide therapy and wellness services to patients with functional impairments. The role involves evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new patients, set goals, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions daily.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home‑care activities.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to obtain information and suggest treatment revisions.
• Use treatment tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedule for clinic needs or emergencies.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and direct assistants and support personnel.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Certification in the relevant specialty.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
