Physical Therapist - Acute Care

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist for its acute care setting in Daytona Beach, Florida. The role covers clinical practice, patient evaluation and treatment planning, supervision of therapy assistants, and participation in quality improvement and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinical knowledge and use evidence-based practices, and act as a clinical instructor
• Perform evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards
• Establish, implement and adapt individualized treatment plans, including goals, activities and frequency
• Document care accurately, completely and on time, and charge patients correctly
• Identify the need for patient and caregiver education, including discharge recommendations
• Discharge patients when maximum benefit is achieved or according to practice and payer guidelines
• Oversee the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides
• Support community marketing and public awareness through lectures and events, and take part in quality improvement and departmental standards
• Maintain productivity standards and adjust work hours to patient needs; other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist - Temporary (PT-TEMP)
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Conversational English, able to communicate with patients, staff, physicians, nurses and administrators
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred; education must meet licensing or certification standards
