Registered Nurse - Surgical Oncology PCU Nights

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Surgical Oncology PCU night shift in Daytona Beach, Florida. The nurse provides direct patient care, develops care plans, educates patients and families and works closely with the medical team.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor for adverse reactions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and outcomes
• Follow infection control protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families
• Supervise and delegate care to other team members
• Take part in performance improvement activities and respond promptly to code situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans
• Preferred certifications: CCNS, NRP, PEARS, TNCC, ABLS, ONS, CLC, SCR, GERO-BC, etc.
