Registered Nurse Neuro PCU Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Neuro PCU night shift. The nurse provides round-the-clock care for neurology patients, works closely with physicians and the wider healthcare team, and responds quickly to code situations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle needs
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following physician orders and protocols
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate patient records and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety and regulatory standards
• Provide emotional support and supervise and delegate care to other team members
• Take part in performance improvement and respond promptly to code situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and adjust care plans
• Preferred certifications: CCNS, NRP, PEARS, TNCC, ABLS, CCRN-E, CLC, ONS, SCR, GERO-BC, etc.
