Physical Therapist 1 – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist I to provide therapy and wellness services to patients in Kendall, FL. The role focuses on restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing permanent disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new patients, set goals, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions daily.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home activities.
• Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists, communicating treatment updates and revisions.
• Use rehabilitation equipment and ensure safe, effective treatment delivery.
• Guide assistants and support staff in their work activities.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field (Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred).
• Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license.
• Ability to meet productivity standards and adjust schedule during clinic needs.
• Professional behavior: punctuality, reliability, respectful communication, and adherence to confidentiality and institutional policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Use of rehabilitation and durable medical equipment (e.g., mobility devices, patient lifts, exercise equipment).
