Phlebotomist Technician – PRN

About the role

The Phlebotomist Technician provides blood collection and specimen processing services as part of the Medical Laboratory Team at Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center. This PRN position works day/evening rotations, supporting patient care with compassion and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, following venipuncture protocols and maintaining log sheets.
• Verify order requests and patient identification before drawing blood or collecting specimens.
• Label all specimens accurately and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
• Process specimens, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging for shipment.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies; float to multiple locations as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques.
• Formal phlebotomy certification and graduation from an accredited phlebotomy program with clinical rotation/externship (preferred).
