Pharmacy Technician – Per Diem (UHealth Deerfield)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to join the Deerfield Beach pharmacy team. This part‑time position supports medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, count, measure, and mix medications according to prescriptions.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, receive and store supplies, and verify stock levels.
• Receive written prescriptions, fill or refill them, and ensure accuracy of information.
• Answer phone calls, assist customers with simple inquiries, and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Label medication bottles and establish patient profiles and records.
• Transfer medication to sterile syringes using aseptic techniques.
• Operate and monitor robotic dispensing machines.
• Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant pharmacy experience.

Required skills

• Aseptic technique.
• Operation of robotic dispensing machines.
