Pharmacy Intern

About the role

We are looking for a Pharmacy Intern to join our pharmacy team and support the delivery of a high-quality patient experience. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist with prescription processing, customer service and daily pharmacy operations while learning the fundamentals of pharmacy practice.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions and provide assistance with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
• Use pharmacy computer systems to retrieve patient and drug information, enter, process and dispense prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists with patient counseling, medication therapy management and health‑screening services within the intern scope of practice.
• Handle cash register transactions, collect payments and maintain accurate sales records.
• Manage inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
• Answer telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and communicate with physicians as needed.
• Report prescription errors promptly and follow quality‑improvement procedures.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a pharmacy program and eligible to work as a pharmacy intern.
• Willing to learn and adhere to state, federal and company pharmacy regulations.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems.
• Cash register operation.
• Basic inventory management.
