Pharmacy Clinical Specialist – Internal Medicine / Pulmonary (Rotating)

About the role

The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist provides pharmaceutical care for patients on internal medicine and pulmonary services at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The position rotates among 2‑3 clinical teams, participates in patient‑care rounds, and supports both decentralized and centralized pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver pharmaceutical care for assigned units, including therapeutic drug monitoring and medication reconciliation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient‑care rounds and provide drug information to clinicians.
• Precept APPE students, PGY1/PGY2 residents, and contribute to research or quality‑improvement projects.
• Cover day, evening, night and weekend shifts on a rotating schedule, including occasional holiday coverage.

Required profile

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (or eligibility within 90 days).
• Completion of a PGY2 residency or PGY1 residency plus two years of clinical specialist experience, or four years of equivalent experience.
• Basic Life Support certification; ACLS or PALS certification required for those responding to cardiac arrest events.

Required skills
