Pharmacist - Sign On or Relocation

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Pharmacist for its Danville, IL store, open to sign-on or relocation candidates. The pharmacist plays a personal role in the community by making sure patients receive the medication and care they need, practicing in an environment that promotes patient care and education, including consultations and immunizations. The pharmacist also mentors and trains pharmacy technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians, hold them accountable for results and motivate the team.
• Resolve patient needs through listening and good customer service.
• Be competent in Meijer policies and procedures and in state and federal pharmacy laws.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, run pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Illinois; must be able to float.
• Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Experience in retail or community practice.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and of policies and procedures.
• Understanding of regulations in the state where the pharmacy operates.
• Organization and prioritization skills.
