About the role

ChenMed is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join its rapidly expanding primary‑care team. The role focuses on dispensing medications, conducting drug utilization reviews, and providing patient counseling, with opportunities to participate in Medication Therapy Management and an Anticoagulation Clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications by reviewing physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Package and label pharmaceuticals, communicating therapeutic concerns with prescribers.
• Enforce policies and procedures to ensure safe, cost‑effective medication use and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Identify significant issues, propose solutions, and oversee implementation.
• Participate in Medication Therapy Management for selected patients.
• Assist in the Anticoagulation Clinic and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited university.
• Active license in good standing with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Residency training preferred (not required).
• Experience in a managed‑care setting is a plus.
• Certification to provide immunizations is a plus.
• Knowledge of state and federal insurance programs and pharmacy regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
