About the role

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join its inpatient pharmacy team. The role focuses on ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication therapy for patients across all specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an active NYS pharmacist license in good standing.
• Review and verify new medication orders, performing medication reconciliation at the point of order verification.
• Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) tools and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) to screen for potential errors and adverse drug events.
• Communicate medication issues, drug interactions, and dosing concerns to medical, nursing, and pharmacy teams.
• Document interventions, allergies, and patient profile updates accurately in the EHR.
• Handle controlled substances and sterile/non‑sterile compounding in compliance with federal, state, and USP 795/797/800 regulations.
• Maintain required logs, temperature monitoring records, and competency documentation.
• Assist with staff training and development as assigned.

Required profile

• Current NYS pharmacist license in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
