Pharmacist – Corrections & Medical Clinic

About the role

The Orange County Government is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support its Medical Clinic and Corrections Pharmacy units. The role involves managing medication ordering, receipt, packaging, labeling, distribution and storage while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy, suitability and required ingredients.
• Supervise drug packaging processes and verify completed packages.
• Oversee data entry of medication orders by pharmacy technicians and confirm accuracy.
• Consult with medical providers regarding prescription issues.
• Maintain a perpetual inventory of controlled substances.
• Assist the Consultant and Clinical Pharmacists and the Director of Pharmacy with administrative tasks.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, contribute to performance evaluations and handle counseling or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Provide drug information to clinical staff upon request.

Required profile

• Active pharmacist license and registration in the State of Florida at the time of hire.
• Experience in a hospital, clinic, or retail pharmacy is preferred.
