Pharmacist – Ambulatory Oncology (The Woodlands)

About the role
The Pharmacy Division at MD Anderson seeks a licensed pharmacist to join the ambulatory oncology team at The Woodlands campus. This day‑shift position (9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) focuses on delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centered medication therapy for cancer patients.
Key responsibilities
- Process and verify all medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare final dosage forms, ensure neatness, and apply correct labeling.
- Assess medication appropriateness based on disease state, body surface area, age, weight, renal function, and other clinical parameters.
- Utilize pharmacy computer systems for order entry, verification, distribution, and final checking.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal drug therapy outcomes.
Required profile
- Active pharmacist license with a Pharm.D. or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient‑centered care in an oncology setting.
- Hospital pharmacy experience of six months or more is preferred.
- High level of accuracy, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy information and clinical computer systems.
