Pharmacist – Acute Care Hospital

About the role

The Pharmacist will support optimal patient care in a 183‑bed acute care hospital, serving patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric. This position focuses on safe, cost‑effective medication management and provides expert pharmaceutical guidance to the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Process orders for parenteral and enteral medications and other pharmaceuticals.
• Promote rational drug use and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide drug information, utilization review, and therapeutic monitoring to healthcare colleagues.
• Maintain knowledge of prescribing trends, new drug developments, and adverse drug reactions.
• Support the hospital’s mission and core values through responsible work performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D. preferred).
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in an acute‑care pharmacy setting.
• Ability to lead and supervise subordinate staff.
• ACLS certification to be obtained within one year of hire.
• Ongoing maintenance of all required licenses and certifications.

Required skills

• USP 797 core skills for sterile compounding.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Clinical pharmacy expertise, including drug therapy monitoring and pharmacokinetics.
• Drug information and utilization review.
• Nutritional support and adverse drug reaction monitoring.
• Cardiopulmonary arrest management.
• Analysis of prescribing trends and new drug developments.
