PET/CT Technologist - Part Time

About the role

Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona is hiring a part-time PET/CT Technologist. The technologist administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect disease, using radiation-producing and detection equipment under physician direction, so that viable images are obtained. The position involves working knowledge of the role, relevant regulations and departmental policies, and performing other duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities

• Nuclear medicine imaging and radiopharmaceutical administration: prepare, calculate, administer, measure and record dosages per physician prescription, and perform diagnostic imaging to produce accurate images.
• Radiation safety, compliance and quality control: handle, store, calibrate and dispose of radioactive materials safely, maintain imaging and laboratory equipment, and comply with federal, state and organizational safety and quality standards.
• Patient care, education and safety: explain procedures and safety precautions, assist patients during examinations, protect patient rights and keep strict confidentiality in line with HIPAA.
• Regulatory compliance and credentialing: keep state licensure in Nuclear Medicine and General Radiography active, meet continuing education requirements, and follow policies on patient care, billing, IT and disaster recovery.
• Operational support: keep the workplace safe and organized, help train new employees, and work across locations and overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school education required.
• At least one year of active experience as a PET/CT Technologist; recent graduates of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program who can sit for their registry are considered, provided they pass the Nuclear Medicine or PET registry exam within 6 months of hire.
• State CRT and Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) license; ARRT certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
