Personnel Security (PERSEC) Analyst

About the role

Watermark is seeking a Personnel Security (PERSEC) Analyst to support a federal agency’s personnel security program. The analyst will evaluate and adjudicate individuals seeking access to federal employment, national security information, or sensitive positions.

Key responsibilities

• Process personnel vetting documents for investigations, adjudications, and continuous‑vetting alerts in line with federal guidelines and agency policy.
• Assess an individual’s character and history to determine risk to federal service and national security, applying adjudicative guidelines across relevant domains.
• Prepare comprehensive written reports recommending granting, denying, or revoking eligibility, with supporting rationale.
• Analyze security files and source documents for authenticity, relevance, and potential risks.
• Use personnel vetting systems such as e‑QIP/NBIS, DCSA CVS/PIPS, DISS, DHS ISMS, or comparable platforms to manage casework.
• Develop and maintain briefing slides, process guides, reports, and manuals using Microsoft Office applications.
• Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, providing customer service and conveying sensitive information.
• Refer cases to government sponsors for final action and coordinate follow‑up to support timely mission execution.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience providing personnel vetting support to a federal government department or agency.
• Experience processing PV documents for investigations, adjudications, or continuous‑vetting alerts.
• Experience providing adjudication support across national security, suitability, fitness, or credentialing domains.
