Personal Trainer – Part‑Time at Med Wellness & Recreation

About the role

The University of Miami’s Med Wellness & Recreation department is seeking a part‑time Personal Trainer to support students, staff, and patients at the UTHealth Miami campus. You will design and deliver safe, effective workout programs while promoting overall wellness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one, partner, and group personal training sessions.
• Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized workout plans.
• Maintain opening and closing procedures for the fitness floor and cardio areas.
• Deliver customer service by spotting, answering exercise questions, and demonstrating equipment use.
• Lead fitness and wellness workshops and offer virtual training when needed.
• Uphold university policies, manage conflicts professionally, and attend mandatory meetings and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 1 year of personal training or related experience.
• American Heart Association CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Personal Training Certification (NCCA preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
