Perioperative Educational Program Coordinator

About the role

The Perioperative Educational Program Coordinator works with the Professional Development Manager to plan, implement and evaluate orientation and education activities for clinical and support caregivers at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement orientation for new hires and assign unit preceptors.
• Coordinate continuing education, staff development, and programs with local colleges.
• Perform up to 20% patient care in the clinical area to maintain competence and teach others.
• Assist with regulatory compliance training such as CPR, ACLS, fire safety, diversity, code management, HIPAA, and TB testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• Two years of perioperative experience in a circulating/OR setting.
• Basic Life Support certification; ACLS certification required within six months if performing moderate sedation.
• Demonstrated expertise in a clinical specialty and knowledge of adult learning theory and teaching strategies.

Required skills

• Clinical systems experience (Epic, Optime).
• Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
