Perception Engineering Lead

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Engineering Lead to head a team developing multi‑modal perception pipelines for defense and government applications. The role focuses on integrating pre‑trained models into real‑world software, overseeing perception autonomy services, and guiding technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers working on perception and autonomy projects.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of perception pipelines using EO/IR and Radar sensors, with future expansion to Acoustics, Passive RF, and Sonar.
• Own the technical roadmap for perception pipelines and the Perception Autonomy service, ensuring reliable integration of pre‑trained models.
• Collaborate with peer teams to integrate perception outputs into broader system architectures.
• Apply best practices for software design, testing, and deployment in defense environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in complex, safety‑critical domains.
• Strong background in perception systems for EO/IR, Radar, or related sensor modalities.
• Experience delivering software for government or defense customers.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and cross‑team collaboration.
