Per Diem Staff Physician - Ophthalmology

The University of Miami seeks a Per Diem Staff Physician specializing in Ophthalmology to provide high‑quality medical care to patients. This position involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with the medical team in a clinical setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive treatment plans addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of patient care.
• Perform respectful and thorough physical assessments of ophthalmology patients.
• Prescribe appropriate medical treatments and clinical drugs.
• Gather accurate patient information through record review and interviews with patients, families, and other health professionals.
• Report to the responsible physician and adhere to departmental policies and co‑signature requirements.
• Identify and report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, or supply inadequacies.
• Document and report all quality‑assurance incidents, including medication errors, following department guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience.
• Appropriate board certification and state medical licensure.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and clinical computer applications.
