Per Diem Staff Physician – Family Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a per‑diem Staff Physician to provide high‑quality primary care to a multicultural patient population. This 100% clinical position will be based at UHealth at Plantation or another UHealth satellite.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary‑care services, including patient histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, arrange referrals, and coordinate specialty care as needed.
• Supervise and direct clinical support staff such as Medical Assistants when applicable.
• Document all patient encounters, procedures, and prescriptions accurately within 24 hours.
• Participate in clinic protocol development, formulary decisions, and medical education for patients and staff.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Experience providing primary‑care services to diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently and manage patient care during assigned shifts.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient confidentiality.
