Per Diem Clinic Nurse (RN) – OB/GYN

About the role

The Clinic Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services in an outpatient OB/GYN setting on a per‑diem basis. You will deliver direct patient care, perform assessments, educate patients and families, and support the clinical team to ensure high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments, triage calls, and determine urgency of patient symptoms.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform nursing procedures within scope of practice.
• Document all nursing services accurately and maintain compliance with California Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care and resolve ethical or legal issues.
• Facilitate appropriate utilization of healthcare resources and enhance the patient experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Current California RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• One (1) year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory care.
• AFHM – Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification as designated by manager.

Required skills

• Basic keyboarding skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of registration and order entry systems.
• Experience with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
