Penetration Tester (Red Team)

About the role

Leidos is hiring a Penetration Tester for its INTEL Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) in the Huntsville, Alabama office. This is a full-time, on-site position within a team working on Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations, Mission Software, SIGINT and Cryptographic Key Management. Candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform live penetration tests for customers and carry out deep-dive preparatory analysis of systems under test
• Recommend mitigation strategies for discovered vulnerabilities
• Test at multiple stages of the system development and acquisition lifecycle
• Develop red team tools for stand-alone and network-connected systems
• Ensure survivability and resiliency of customer systems and deliver timely development updates and after-action reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical degree, or a master's degree with more than 2 years of experience (experience may count in lieu of a degree)
• 4-8 years of experience in penetration testing, red teams or a related security field
• Located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate; on-site position
• US citizen able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Required skills

• Proficiency with Linux (preferably Kali or Parrot) and Windows
• Scripting with languages such as Bash and Python
• Hands-on penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and security analysis on enterprise systems
• Web application penetration testing, including OWASP Top 10
• Cloud security assessments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native penetration testing
• API security testing (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and authentication/authorization
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network security

Preferred: reconnaissance and exploitation tools (Nmap, Nikto, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike), custom exploit and automation script development, cloud security tools (ScoutSuite, Prowler, Pacu), DoD experience, and certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, GCIH or CEH. Pay range: $87,100 - $157,450.
