Penetration Tester - Cyber Engineer

About the role

CACI is hiring a Penetration Tester (Cyber Engineer) to join its team of engineers who tackle real-world problems across many fields. The position is 100% on site in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, and requires a minimum Secret clearance to start. It is a regular, full-time position with up to 25% travel within the continental US.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in-depth assessments and analyses of sophisticated systems using penetration testing and threat-hunting techniques
• Work hands-on with the latest electronics and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
• Develop and present proof-of-concepts demonstrating exploitation techniques

Required profile

• Active Secret clearance with the potential to obtain TS/SCI
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience
• Professional experience in penetration testing or threat hunting
• Proven experience in grey and black box penetration testing
• At least 2-3 years of exploitation experience
• Familiarity with interfacing with electronic hardware, such as disassembling devices and identifying components

Required skills

• In-depth understanding of OWASP Top 10, DoD, NSA or industry-standard vulnerability and penetration testing standards
• Proficiency with tools such as nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite and Nessus
• Extensive Linux knowledge and strong grasp of TCP/IP, virtualization and web services
• Exploitation techniques including buffer overflows, fuzzing, SQL injection, MITM, XSS, privilege escalation and lateral movement
