Pediatric Clinical Faculty (Part-Time)

About the role

Chamberlain University is looking for a Part-Time Visiting Professor to deliver pediatric clinical instruction. You will implement the College's philosophy, curriculum and course objectives through clinical teaching, supervise nursing students in their clinical placements, and act as a role model for students and colleagues. The position is open in Tinley Park, IL, as well as Northlake, Munster and Crown Point, IN.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Make yourself available to staff at the clinical agencies and evaluate students' performance against course objectives, offering remediation when needed.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures with the help of agency personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments suited to each student's knowledge and skill level, and return homework, quizzes, tests and clinical paperwork in a timely way.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and the College, and keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Work with administration, staff and other faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction, and take part in assessment, retention and policy initiatives.
• Act as a professional role model and comply with all regulatory rules and standards; report to the dean or assistant dean.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing (required).
• At least 2 years of recent experience (within the last five years) practicing pediatrics as a registered nurse.
• Professional Nurse licensure in Illinois or Indiana (required).
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.
